Tarrant: We recorded England Keep My Bones at The Church Studios in London in January and February 2011 with Tristan Ivemy again at the helm on engineering and production. We spent much longer arranging and writing parts for the songs on this record than we did for Poetry. I remember we demoed the album in full a few times in our Oxford rehearsal space over the Christmas of 2009, so that we could pick the songs apart and make sure everything was working. And we had some pretty full on 'disagreements' about aspects of the record from start to finish: arrangements, parts, sounds, mixes. I think by the end of the mixing process Frank probably wanted to kill us all (or maybe just torture us a little), but one of the benefits of our situation with Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls is that at the end of the day there is one boss who makes the final choices; so ultimately decisions are made, disagreements settled, and things get done. And at the end of the day all that pushing and pulling produced a great record.
